About Justice League (1997)

In 1997, CBS tried to capitalize on the latest wave of super hero success by commissioning a Justice League live action TV series based on the more humorous Justice League International comics by Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis. And they basically turned into a Friends rip-off.

4 – Viper (1994)

Thomas the Tank joins us to talk 1994’s Viper, the would-be successor to Knight Rider.

About Viper

In 1994, CBS commissioned a pilot for another show about a vigilante with a cool car, Viper, starring no one  you really know. The show faced a lot of struggle before it even got on the air, with a lawsuit and CBS canceling it for being too violent. NBC picked it up at the behest of Daimler-Chrysler and Viper lived for one season before coming back two years later in syndication.

2 – Cop Rock

Marc, Dustin, and Stefan Halley discuss the Cop Rock pilot from 1990, one of the worst received TV pilots of all time.

About Cop Rock

In 1987, ABC gave Steven Bochco (Hillstreet Blues, Doogie Howser) a 10-episode deal because he could do no wrong. But it turns out he could.

After a failed attempt to turn Hillstreet into a Broadway musical, we got Cop Rock: a hybrid police drama and wacky musical that is somehow neither. The show ran for 11 episodes before being canceled.

1 – The Pilot Project Pilot

Welcome to the The Pilot Project, a show that will take on the never aired, lost, and unloved pilots of TV shows that never were or didn’t make it. In every full episode we’ll break down one pilot and tell you how it came to be and how it all fell apart and then in the mini episodes we’ll talk about the stuff that stuck with us since we watched the last pilot and talk about what’s coming next.

In this first episode, we talk about the show’s concept and discuss our first breakdown: 1990’s Cop Rock.
